Lithium rechargeable battery is required to meet the high energy density applications such as IMT-2000 in near future.   The use of the lithium metal itself is the ultimate solution since it has 10 times higher than currently used carbon anode in this aspect.  The barrier to use lithium metal is the safety problem during charge and discharge process.  The growth of the lithium dendrite in the figure is the main reason to overcome. XenoEnergy technology can restrict the growth of lithium dendrite and make it possible to use lithium metal as an active material for lithium rechargeable battery.  A lot of good results are accumulated and R&D is going with cooperative works between XenoEnergy and the related universities for the commercial uses.
